A suspect has been arrested in connection with the attack on an elderly man at his Summerlin home, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Armondo Dangerfield, 28, is accused of attempted murder at a residence in Sun City Summerlin last month, according to FOX5Vegas.

Dangerfield was arrested on July 31 in Mesa, Arizona, on a wide range of local charges, according to police.

In November 2020, KOLD, reported that Dangerfield was apprehended in the Phoenix area in connection with similar criminal acts. According to AZ Family, in one incident, Dangerfield and another man, Lateyon Finley, broke into a residence, kept a man and an 85-year-old woman hostage, and stole from them.

According to AZ Family, Dangerfield and Finley were both charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, and other felonies.

According to court documents, Dangerfield was released from Maricopa County Jail this spring on a $25,000 bond.

He was released with electronic monitoring, but it failed. Just two days before the dangerous Las Vegas attack, an arrest warrant was issued.

According to police, the suspects in Arizona would enter the residences through an accessible garage door. Police stated that once inside, they would keep the innocent people at gunpoint and demand valuable items.

The 80-year-old victim informed FOX5 that he was in his garage when he was struck on the back of his head and was knocked to the ground. He stated the suspect discovered an ice pick in the garage and threatened the victim with death if he did not hand over valuables.

The accused person forced the man inside the house and took a gun from the victim’s safe. Eventually, the 80-year-old man fled, and as evidenced by surveillance video, the suspect attempted to cock the gun and fire numerous times. The suspect, however, was useless because the gun was not loaded.

According to police, Dangerfield will be forced to return to Las Vegas to face charges in connection with the July 24 incident.
