A unhinged Pennsylvania man admitted to barreling his car into a crowd, killing one and injuring 17, before driving home and murdering his mom with a hammer.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by WYOU, Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, a 24-year-old from Nescopeck, allegedly got into a heated argument with his mother before getting into a car and driving to nearby Berwick, where the disaster crash occurred.

According to police, he drove by the Intoxicology Department bar, where a crowd gathered for a fundraising event for the relatives of ten people killed in a fire earlier this month.

He turned around after deciding to drive into the crowd.

Reyes explained to police that he was simply tired of fighting with his mother.

Around 6:15 p.m., he plowed into the crowd, killing 50-year-old Rebecca L. Reese and injuring 17 others.

“I didn’t ram ’em, I just ran them over,” Reyes said to police, according to the affidavit.

Reyes drove home after the disaster. When he arrived, he noticed his mom standing in the street. According to cops, he slammed on the gas and struck her with the front of his vehicle.

He told police that he took a hammer from his vehicle and struck his mom in the head 4 or 5 times. When police arrived, they discovered the woman had died and arrested Reyes.

According to investigators, Reyes is charged with two counts of criminal homicide. He was denied bail and is now being held at the Columbia County Correctional Facility.
