Authorities in Oklahoma City captured Christopher Tomberlin, 37, after he faked being dead for six years after attempting to murder his girlfriend in Georgia.

The United States Marshal’s Office and Oklahoma City Police received information that Tomberlin was in the vicinity.

According to authorities, he has been in the metro for the previous two years. During his alleged death, he used aliases.

He was detained in Bibb County, Georgia in 2015 after reportedly attempting to murder his girlfriend.

According to investigators, there was also a Facebook post declaring his death. Someone is said to have come forward with a tip.

“That tip from a caller that had information that indicated that Mr. Tomberlin was alive and residing in the Oklahoma City metro area,” Andrew Joseph, Chief Deputy with the U.S. Marshal’s, Western District of Oklahoma, said.

Tomberlin, according to a 2015 Macon Telegraph report, swung a hatchet at his girlfriend, mauled her, and threatened her life.
