According to local police, a 25-year-old Connecticut man reportedly drew a pistol on two women on Saturday after they did not thank him for holding the door open for them.
The Hamden Police Department said in a statement that officers went to a Family Dollar store in Hamden about 3:15 p.m. after getting a report that a man was brandishing a pistol at two people outside the business.
When cops arrived, a witness said that a guy, subsequently identified as Joshua Murray, reportedly pointed a handgun at the woman he was holding the door open for. According to the statement, they informed cops that he became furious when they did not say thank you.
When police found Murray, they reportedly discovered a handgun on him, and he allegedly obstructed with their arrest. According to the statement, no one was injured.
Murray has been charged with illegally carrying a firearm, two charges of second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with a police officer. According to police, he is scheduled to appear in court on August 2 and is being jailed on a $25,000 bond.
