According to North Charleston Police, a teen was killed and 14 others were injured in a mass shooting that occurred during an unauthorized community gathering in North Charleston on Saturday.
According to authorities, a 14-year-old female died as a result of her wounds. The Coroner’s office has yet to disclose her identity. On Sunday afternoon, police organized a news conference to offer updates on the case.
Burgess said no accused have been named and no motive has been established, however police believe multiple shooters fired rounds.
Numerous victims with gunshot wounds were discovered by officers on the spot. According to officials, many additional victims were found in local hospitals.
The incident happened after a brawl spilled out close to the stage of an unauthorized concert in the area, according to authorities.
The shooting was one of numerous that occurred over the weekend, including mass shootings in New Jersey, Youngstown, Ohio, and Columbus, Ohio.
