According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, investigators are looking for a person of interest in the homicide case of a mother and her 1-year-old child who were found dead in a car near Lake Ellenor.
Sheriff John Mina of Orange County says they are searching for Doujon Duwayne Griffiths, 21, in the shooting murders of 20-year-old Massania Malcolm and her 1-year-old child, Jordania.
According to Mina, deputies rushed to a shooting call early Tuesday morning and discovered a male in his 20s who had been shot multiple times. Before being transferred to the hospital for surgery, Mina said the man informed deputies that a friend had shot him.
When the man woke up from sugery, Mina said he informed authorities that he was shot while in a vehicle with his girlfriend, baby, and Griffiths.
According to Mina, the man stated that he feared that his girlfriend was also shot and that the friend fled in the car with Malcolm and the child. Deputies later discovered the mother and daughter lifeless inside a car near 6100 Lake Ellenor Drive.
Griffiths is wanted by the sheriff’s office for attempted murder in connection with the incident on Tuesday, according to Mina. He is also a suspect in the shooting of Malcolm and the death of the 1-year-old girl.
