According to an eyewitness passenger who shared clip of the fight with Fox News Digital, an all-out brawl broke out between dozens of passengers on board the Carnival Magic cruise ship over accusations of cheating while on the trip.
Theresa James, a travel agent, told Fox News Digital that the fight began shortly before 2 a.m. on the ship’s fifth floor, which houses a dance club and casino.
According to James, who observed the fight from her door, an alleged threesome among passengers had infuriated their significant others when they discovered the rendezvous.
According to James, beer bottles were smashed and a woman may have been slashed during the turmoil.
The travel agent said the fight lasted an hour and went from the fifth to the first floor of the ship, a huge distance. She said 60 people were involved in the altercation.
James praised Carnival’s security team for calming the situation.
She called the fight’s participants “ignorant fools acting stupid” and said security prevented a worse situation.
The New York Post reports that security called the Coast Guard to escort the ship to shore.
The ship docked Tuesday morning with NYPD waiting. The ship docked in Manhattan as planned, Carnival said.
It’s unclear if anyone had been arrested or if New York or New Jersey handled it since it may have occurred in international waters.
