A 23-year-old McDonald’s employee was shot in the neck during a food disagreement in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant area.
At around 7 p.m. Monday, the worker got into an argument – or attempted to engage in a dispute – with a woman over food inside the restaurant.
According to officials, the 40-year-old customer complained to the victim, who was working behind the counter, that her fries were cold.
As the argument heated up, she FaceTimed her 20-year-old son, who went to the restaurant to accost the employee himself.
According to police, he saw the worker outside and pulled out a handgun, shooting the victim once.
He was hit in the neck and taken to Brookdale University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The woman’s 20-year-old son was arrested and was being questioned at the scene.
The victim appears to have no prior relationship with the suspect or his mother.
The shooting is similar to a number of recent incidents of violence against fast-food restaurant staff members.
