A 11-year-old survivor of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, feared the gunman would return for her, so she smeared herself in her friend’s blood and pretended to be dead.

Miah Cerrillo’s aunt and godmother revealed that the fourth-grader is having a hard time dealing with what she had seen during the shooting and telling them about it.

Around midnight my sister-in-law called me and she was just crying, like ‘I think it just hit Miah. I think everything came to reality now,'” said Blanca Rivera.

Irma Garcia, Miah’s teacher, was one of the two teachers killed, according to Rivera. Her classmates and peers were also targeted.

Then, according to Rivera, Miah entered survival mode.

Miah was injured, transported to the hospital, and has since been discharged.

The family is rallying around Miah to help her recover physically, emotionally, and spiritually, according to Rivera, a mother of three.
