A $385 fine was levied on a black lady talking on the phone in her Detroit neighborhood after a white neighbor called the police on her for talking too loud.

Diamond Robinson was talking on the phone while out on a walk in Eastpointe on Thursday when she was accosted by a neighbor who asked her, ‘Do you think you can get off the phone or talk lower?’

Robinson posted on Social media that her neighbor, whom she referred to as “Rebecca,” warned her that she was speaking too loudly when working at home, and that her boss wondered about the loudness.

‘Get out of my face,’ Robinson said as she walked by her. Then Eastpointe police arrived on the scene three minutes later.

When a cop tells her she may go to jail for being too loud, she asks him what particular rule states she can’t talk on the phone in her own community.

The cops stepped away and headed to their vehicles before emerging with a $385 ticket for being a “public nuisance” and placing it in Robinson’s mailbox when she declined to accept it.
