Missing Ohio Mother of Four Fund Dead in a Trunk After 18-Day Search

The body of a Shelby woman reported missing about two weeks ago has been discovered, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, Melinda Kay Davis’s body was discovered in the trunk of her Volkswagen vehicle in the Columbus area.

According to investigators, Davis told her relatives she was going to see her ex-boyfriend, John Henry Mack Jr., at his Mansfield-area residence on Feb. 25, but she was never seen or heard from ever again.

On Feb. 26, deputies conducted a search of Mack’s home and said that after processing the findings of blood in his home and speaking with the Richland County prosecutor, an arrest warrant for Mack was issued.

Days later, federal and local authorities obtained information about an automobile in the Columbus area that fit the description Davis was last seen driving. On Sunday, police were called.

“The body of Melinda Davis was discovered in the trunk of the vehicle.”
