A 32-year-old Nyc man might very well soon face murder charges in the murder of his teen cousin, who was reportedly killed over the summer for interfering with the man’s Netflix viewing.
Jallen McConnell, 15, of Athens, Georgia, died in June after being found unconscious in the tub of an apartment at the Wise Houses on W. 94th Street, according to authorities. The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital by EMS, where he was declared dead.
According to law enforcement sources, the teen decided to travel to New York City to live the summer with his older cousin, Mitchaux Booker, who lives in an Upper West Side residence.
On June 30, two days after McConnell’s death, Booker was arrested on assault and endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person charges.
According to police sources, Booker confessed to investigators that he assaulted his cousin “at least fifty times” with a belt.
According to police, McConnell’s death was ruled a homicide.
According to police sources, he died as a result of a severe assault and asphyxiation.
