Miya Marcano's Family Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Apartment Complex

Arden Villas apartments, its parent firm, and maintenance guy Armando Caballero are now being sued by Miya Marcano’s relatives for negligence.

Marcano was a resident and employee of Arden Villas.

The apartment complex, its parent firm, and the estate of deceased maintenance man and suspect in Marcano’s murder, Armando Caballero, were named in a summons issued in Orange County courts Monday evening.

Caballero, who used a master key fob to get access to her residence, is suspected of kidnapping and killing her, according to investigators.

Arden Villas didn’t go far enough to safeguard Marcano, according to the family, and they are now suing for negligence.

According to the lawsuit, the Arden Villas ignored Marcano’s concerns and failed not do a background investigation on Caballero.

According to the suit, a more complete background check would have revealed an arrest from years ago. Furthermore, according to the lawsuit, if the Arden Villas had spoken with past employers, they would have learned about the Seminole County complex where a female tenant had similarly had issues about him.
