Mother Sues Carl Crawford For $1 Million After Her Son Drowned At His Houston Home

The mother of the 5-year-old boy that drowned at Carl Crawford’s Houston home is suing the former pro baseball player for $1 million, according to Click2Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the child, Kasen Hersi, and Bethany Lartigue, 25, died after drowning at Crawford’s home.

Hersi, who couldn’t swim, was at the party with a friend of his mother’s and her two children when he wandered outside, according to KHOU.

Lartique attempted to save Hersi but they did not survive.

The lawsuit states that Crawford, who is also the owner of the Houston record label 1501 Certified Entertainment, was negligent for failing to secure his pool and taking the necessary steps to ensure that the child would not have access to the pool.

The mother is seeking compensation for mental anguish, pecuniary losses and more.
