A mother in Richmond faces charges after allegedly dropping her 11-month-old child from her apartment window.

According to WTVR, Thursday evening around 6:40 p.m., the Belt Atlantic Apartment Complex off Midlothian Turnpike contacted Richmond Police.

Neighbors were shocked after hearing a woman yell, “I’m going to drop her!” The shouts were sufficient to attract the attention of a few individuals outside.

A man reported seeing a woman holding a baby out of a third-story window approximately 20 feet above the ground. He rushed towards the window in an attempt to catch the baby.

He stated that he prevented the infant’s skull from striking the ground.

Local reporter, Jon Burkett was informed by Crime Insider sources that the infant was stable at a nearby hospital at the time of the last check.

Mychae Delores Goode, the baby’s mother, has been charged with felony child abuse and child neglect and is being held without bond.
