A wife shot at her husband five times after a verbal altercation.
On April 23, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) was dispatched to the 700 block of Lipford Street in response to a shooting call.
The person on the phone told MPD that he heard a loud sound outside his house and went outside to discover his wife, Latasha Morris, standing next to his car.
The guy went out to accost Morris, but the exchange became tense as the two started pushing and hitting each other, according to a witness. Morris allegedly said, “Oh so we are gonna do it like that, huh?” according to an affidavit.
Morris returned to her vehicle, drew a handgun, and shot at him five times, according to authorities. He was hit twice in the leg. Morris then got into her car and drove away after the shooting.
He was transported to Regional One hospital. The couple had been separated for four months, according to the husband, WREG reported.
Latasha Morris has been charged with attempted murder in the first degree and using a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony.
