Ohio Man Sues Hotel After Cockroach Crawls into His Ear Causing Hearing Loss
According to a lawsuit filed March 21, an Ohio man lost his hearing after a cockroach crawled into his ear while he was sleeping at a hotel in the Myrtle Beach area.
According to the lawsuit, Todd VanSickle of Glenmont, Ohio, stayed at the Sands Ocean Club Resort on July 30, 2021. He claims that a cockroach crawled into his ear and caused severe pain while he was sleeping.
Sands Ocean Club is accused of being liable for failing to check for cockroaches and having a pest control service, according to the lawsuit. According to the lawsuit, the property owners neglected to clean his room and keep the surrounding area protected.
According to the lawsuit, VanSickle claims that the hotel’s negligence caused him to end up paying medical expenses as well as ongoing pain and discomfort.
VanSickle is seeking unspecified monetary compensation.
