Police in Memphis allege that a woman shot another woman at a local grocery store.

On May 29, the victim was gunned down at a SuperLo Foods located in the 2200 block of Lamar Avenue.

Police discovered the woman with a chest wound. Per an affidavit, she was raced to Regional One in critical condition. A man described Leenora Johnson, 42, as the shooter.

According to the affidavit, he told investigators that Johnson and the victim had been arguing for 2 months over a family death.

Police say store video surveillance captured Johnson attempting to hit the victim with her vehicle. She is then said to have exited the vehicle with a pistol before the man stepped between the 2 women.

According to authorities, Johnson decided to return to her vehicle, aimed, and fired one shot at the victim.

After the shooting, deputies located Johnson at the intersection of Tunstall Street and Park Avenue with a black pistol in the passenger seat of her vehicle. She was transported to East Jail.

She is charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm, according to court documents.
