An OnlyFans model was arrested and charged with murder on Wednesday after reportedly stabbing her boyfriend to death in Miami on April 3, her lawyer confirmed to Yahoo News.

Courtney Clenney was arrested in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii, more than 4 months after the death of her boyfriend, Christian “Toby” Obumseli.

“We are completely shocked at Courtney’s arrest based upon the clear evidence of self defense in this matter,” Clenney’s lawyer, Frank Prieto, told Yahoo News via email. “Further, we are disappointed that the state attorney sought an arrest warrant in this matter. … We have always offered to self-surrender if charges were filed in an effort to begin the legal process of clearing her of the charges.”

According to the Hawaii Police Department, Clenney, a white social media personality and OnlyFans model who often uses the name Courtney Tailor on social networking sites, is now being charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

According to the Miami Herald, Clenney was in Hawaii seeking medical attention for PTSD and drug addiction rehabilitation. Her lawyer, however, asserts that she was the victim of the entire situation, not Obumseli, a Black cryptocurrency investor, and has promised to go to any length to clear her name.

According to a press release issued Wednesday evening, the arrest warrant for Clenney was issued by Miami-Dade County, Fla., and will most likely be made accessible ahead of a news briefing by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.

According to police, Obumseli’s fatal stabbing was the consequence of a domestic incident. Clenney had called the cops after the tragedy and told them she was afraid for her life and then had acted in self-defense.

She was ultimately hospitalized for psych assessment under Florida’s Baker Act, which offers emergency mental health care and temporary detainment for people who are suicidal or experiencing a mental health crisis.

She was soon released, however, and was seen at a hotel bar 5 days after the violent incident.

Clenney and Obumseli were known to authorities leading up to the fatal stabbing since police had already been called to their apartment at least four times in recent months in connection to disturbances, though no arrests had been made.

Obumseli’s family has stated that they never considered him a threat.

“We have no cause to believe that this was a case of self-defense,” his cousin Karen Egbuna said at a press conference five days after the killing.

Clenney was being held at the East Hawaii Detention Center as of Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in district court on Thursday. According to local police, she will “eventually be extradited to Florida.”
