Phylicia Rashad Is Now The Dean of Fine Arts at Howard University

Phylicia Rashad is now the Dean of Fine Arts at Howard University. The legendary actress, best known for her role as Claire Huxtable on “The Cosby Show” will start her new career at the historically black university at the beginning of July.

Rashad graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in fine arts at Howard back in 1970.

Rashad had previously worked as a guest lecturer, adjunct faculty member, and even taught master’s-level classes before joining the Howard faculty. She was also a member of Howard’s Board of Trustees from 1996 to 1999, and again from 2013 to 2016.
