At a CTA train station on Tuesday morning, a woman was stabbed numerous times in the face.

The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the Blue Line station in the 700 block of S. Cicero, according to authorities. Two men confronted a 36-year-old woman and punched her in the face, according to WGN.

According to police, the woman had a knife and stabbed or cut one of the men. One of the suspects supposedly grabbed her knife and repeatedly stabbed the woman in the face, according to police.

According to police, she was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. The suspects ran away on foot and have not been apprehended.
