Quick: Stabbing Suspect Gets Shot in The Chest After Lunging at A Female Police Officer With a Knife!

New York Attorney General Letitia James revealed body-camera footage from Joshua De’Miguel Kavota’s fatal shooting.

Saranac Lake police responded to a stabbing at Stewart’s Shop on June 29. Beebe and her partner approach Kavota outside Stewart’s Shop in bodycam footage. Beebe asks Kavota for a knife in the video. Kavota rejects and says, “I would be careful what you wish…”.

After a brief discussion, Kavota pulls out a knife and charges Beebe, who screams and stumbles. Officer Aaron Sharlow fired two bullets at Kavota, who collapsed to the parking lot after Beebe slumped backward.

Beebe sobs as she breathes. She pointed her revolver towards Kavota. The knife was a wooden-handled fixed-blade kitchen knife. Beebe’s knife is shown on video.

Kavota is spotted on the ground seconds later, and both cops offer first aid. Sharlow says he shot Kavota twice in the chest during the incident.
The video finishes when an ambulance comes. Adirondack Medical Center pronounced Kavota dead.

During the investigation, both officers are on administrative leave. The investigation’s conclusions have not been revealed.
