R. Kelly Hit With New Charges Alleging Sexual Abuse Against a Minor in Chicago

R. Kelly was hit with new federal charges in Chicago, alleging that, according to the Chicago Tribune, he had sexually abused a minor female for four years, beginning in 1997.

The superseding indictment, made public Friday, charged that Kelly had sexually abused a teenager who had been known as “Minor 6.”

Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, said via Twitter of the charges, “We are aware of the superseding indictment. We continue to fight for him and look forward to the day he is free,” adding “#notguilty #rkelly.”

The new charges further pursue seizure of all profits of Kelly’s company, Bass Productions Ltd., together with a company owned by its long-time business partner and co-defendant, Derrel McDavid.
