According to Sunday reports from Rwanda’s New Times and ESPN’s The Undefeated, rapper J. Cole will play professional basketball for the Rwanda Patriots of the Basketball Africa League. The rapper will add star power to the Basketball Africa League’s inaugural season, which will include 12 franchises.

Jermaine Lamarr Cole was born in Sanford, North Carolina, and was a walk-on at St. John’s University before deciding to pursue music instead of playing in a Division I game.

However apart from his basketball ambitions, Cole will release his long awaited album The Off-Season on May 14.
