Rapper Trick Daddy Arrested On DUI and Cocaine Charges

Rapper Trick Daddy was arrested Saturday morning on a charge of possession of cocaine in Miami-Dade. A Miami-Dade officer responded to a driver hitting signs and running red lights in a dark colored Range Rover. As the officer approached the driver’s side, he saw that the driver “appeared sleep behind the wheel.” When he woke up with a knock on the window, the man was identified by his driver’s license as Maurice Samuel Young — Trick Daddy’s birth name, according to the Miami Herald.

The arrest affidavit said Young told the officer that he had had been drinking at the club earlier.

The report stated that Young had slurred speech, bloodshot, watery, glassy eyes, and that the officer did smell alcohol on his breath. He consented to a field sobriety test that he could not finish successfully, the police said.

Trick Daddy was taken to a police station. While there, the police discovered cocaine inside a dollar bill while Trick Daddy put his belongings in a plastic bag.

His bond was set at $5,000 for possession of cocaine and $1,000 for driving under the influence charge.
