R&B Group TROOP's Reggie Warren Passes Away at 52

According to TMZ, a rep for the group stated he passed away Sunday at his home in San Bernardino County, surrounded by family. He had been reportedly dealing with health issues for a while now, and was even hospitalized for a couple months back in January.

Reggie was released from the hospital on Saturday with the expectation of dying, according to his representative. His death is reportedly not related to COVID but the family didn’t want to speak on a official cause until an autopsy can be performed.

Reggie entered TROOP with childhood friends Rodney Benford, John Harreld, Steve Russell, and Allen McNeil when the band first formed in the 1980s.

The quintet signed with Atlantic Records and released their debut album in 1988, with the lead single “Mamacita” becoming a success. They’re best known for their second album, ‘Attitude,’ which produced two #1 singles in the form of “All I Do Is Think of You” and “Spread My Wings.”
