In what authorities suspect to be a human smuggling enterprise, over 90 people were discovered in a Houston home.

The report states that the original call was about a kidnapping, according to the Houston Police Department.

Authorities are extremely worried that there may be some positive COVID-19 cases in the house, so they’ve enlisted the help of the health department to conduct rapid tests. Houston Police Assistant Chief Daryn Edwards said, “We did have some people in the house who said they were not able to smell, they were not able to taste.”

There were only 5 women out of the 90 individuals and no children, inside the home. The kidnapping tip came through Thursday night, according to Edwards.

For the time being, the residents will be quarantined in the house, and Houston authorities have turned the issue over to Homeland Security Investigations.
