Man Who Georgia Police Chased to Rick Ross' House Dies in Custody

The man who led cops on a high-speed chase that ended at Rick Ross’ front door has died in custody, according to TMZ.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation stated, Chaka Stewart, 40, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Clayton County Jail in Georgia on Saturday.

When a guard, who’s also medic were making their evening rounds, the guard observed Stewart lying there and tried to save his life when the guard realized something was severely wrong.

At the jail, he was declared dead. Stewart was alone in his cell, according to law enforcement sources, and no foul play is suspected. To find out what happened, an autopsy is being performed.

Stewart’s mother, Jacqueline Gordon, confirmed that her son was the man arrested outside Rick’s Georgia estate. Police say he crashed his truck and was carrying a handgun, before being to be taken into custody at gunpoint after a wild chase through the streets.

She claims she last spoke with her son on Friday, and he started telling her he was being treated unfairly in jail. Gordon claims Stewart stated he was beaten, wasn’t allowed to wash, and was restricted to his cell for 23 hours a day, though it’s unclear whether he was blaming officials or other inmates.
