
After hitting a man and a 10-year-old child outside a banquet hall in Florida, a driver was charged with two counts of attempted murder, according to authorities.
Detectives discovered there had been an event at Banquet Masters with a large number of people, and unwanted visitors entered, resulting in the verbal confrontation.
They said a brawl erupted after Roberto Dothe, 24, Anthony Benitez,18, and another individual showed up to a party uninvited. According to authorities, the trio returned to their car, and Dothe then drove into a gathering of partygoers, striking a 10-year-old child and a 37-year-old man.
A mob reportedly approached the automobile and began beating Dothe, Benitez, and the other passenger, according to police. After being attacked by one of the partygoers, the other passenger sustained significant injuries. Benitez allegedly replied by hitting the guest with a bottle of booze, according to police.
Benitez was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and detained on the spot.
Dothe allegedly ran, but was apprehended nearby a short time later, according to authorities. Two charges of attempted second-degree murder have been filed against him.
