According to TMZ, NBA superstar Russell Westbrook , 32, SoCal native has partnered with the L.A. Promise Fund to launch the “Russell Westbrook Why Not? Academy.”
The Academy will cater to kids in in South Los Angeles from grades 6 through 12.
“My plan is making sure you guys and the future kids coming in have access to all the resources you need to be successful,” the former NBA MVP said.
Westbrook made the announcement in touching video while he was being interviewed by a future student.
