Sacramento Mass Shooting Victims Identified

The coroner’s office identified all six victims who died in a mass shooting in downtown Sacramento on Sunday morning. The shooting also injured twelve other people.

The ages of the 3 men and 3 women who died ranged from 21 to 57.

They were identified as:

  • Johntaya Alexander, 21, of Elk Grove
  • Melinda Davis, 57
  • Sergio Harris, 38, of North Highlands
  • Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 32, of Salinas
  • Yamile Martinez-Andrade, 21, of Selma
  • Devazia Turner, 29, of Carmichael

Families affected by the shooting can get help from a family assistance center Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cal Expo’s Lot D entrance. The center will be staffed by victim witness advocates, an emotional support team from the American Red Cross, and crisis and trauma chaplaincy.

According to Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester, the shooting occurred following a massive brawl in the area, numerous shooters were believed to be involved, and a stolen gun was retrieved at the scene.

According to Lester, at least three surrounding buildings and 3 automobiles were also hit by gunshots on Monday. Lester also confirmed the arrest of a 26-year-old man in connection with the shooting. Dandrae Martin was arrested and charged with assault with a firearm and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in determining who is responsible.
