A bill that would make Juneteenth a federal holiday is officially on its way to President Joe Biden’s desk for approval, after the House approved it by a vote of 415-14 on Wednesday afternoon. The law was passed unanimously by the Senate on Tuesday night.

This is the first time in nearly 40 years there will be a new federal holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day was signed into law in 1983.
