Ricky Martin’s alleged domestic abuse accuser is one of his own relatives and the pop artist is allegedly facing a half-century 50 YEARS in prison.
According to a recent story published Friday by the Spanish news website Marca, Ricky’s accuser is his 21-year-old nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, adding incest into the investigation in Puerto Rico.
Eric Martin, the singer’s brother, apparently identified the accused victim and Ricky is scheduled to appear in court on July 21. Certain sexual offenses in Puerto Rico carry heavier punishments when the alleged victim is kin to the perpetrator, although it is unknown what Martin is facing.
Nonetheless, Marca reports that if convicted, Martin faces up to 50 years in prison.
Ricky was accused of domestic abuse earlier in the month, and the alleged victim, whose name has not been revealed, obtained a temporary order against Ricky, who has refuted the charges.
Marca is now claiming that the nephew reportedly ended a 7-month romance with Ricky. Ricky apparently did not take it very well, constantly trying to contact and visit his nephew’s residence.
Marty Singer, Ricky Martin’s attorney, informed TMZ “Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been – and would never be – involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”
Rick’s representative adds, “The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”
