Chopper 9 Skyzoom was dispatched after a two-hour high-speed police chase in which a guy drove recklessly through the Carolinas, colliding with two other motorists. During the pursuit, the guy stole 4 vehicles, according to authorities.

After a break-in was revealed shortly before 11 a.m., the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s helicopter started following a vehicle. According to authorities, a Jeep was stolen.

Chopper 9 saw a stolen white pickup vehicle speeding and swerving on I-77 near Clanton Road in south Charlotte about noon.

Later, the truck drove to a Walmart on South Tryon Street, where the driver stole a gold vehicle. In the pickup, he left a woman behind.

Chopper 9 saw the car’s owner grab the passenger door before the guy fled.

“They came around the corner in that pickup truck, he stepped out, and that was it,” stated the car owner.

The automobile then drove north on South Boulevard, where it came within feet of a person standing nearby.

After that, the automobile went through a South End parking area before the driver headed north. Chopper 9 Skyzoom saw the automobile on Statesville Road near Interstate 85.

The driver then sped between lanes on I-77 south. The automobile swerved back to South End.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom overflew the automobile in uptown before the driver proceeded south. The vehicle was spotted at Park and Johnston roads about 12:45 p.m.

The driver then took US 521 to Indian Land, South Carolina, soon about 1 p.m. The driver returned to North Carolina minutes later.

The driver wrecked just after 1 p.m. at Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Johnston Road. He tried to help the airbag-deployed victim in the other automobile.

The suspect ran to other cars, snatched an SUV, and drove down Johnston Road. It was his fourth car Wednesday.

Police followed the vehicle on Fairview Road near Colony Road. The motorist swerved and drove erratically.

Abrahan Nassar smashed his truck into the stolen SUV to halt the chase. Nassar’s engine smoked after the collision and broke down.

The SUV crashed into another near South and East boulevards. The driver finally surrendered to police.

CMPD SUVs surrounded the junction and arrested him. The suspect’s charges are unknown.
