A law enforcement source told KSDK that a 13-year-old child is accused of shooting his father while he was strangling the boy’s mom.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Page Boulevard in the city’s Academy/Sherman Park neighborhood around 1 a.m. Officers discovered a 47-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen and a 50-year-old guy with gunshot wounds to his legs and butt cheeks when they showed up.

According to the woman, she and the man got into a heated argument, and he strangled her.

But while she was being strangled, she claims, their 13-year-old son picked up a pistol and fired six shots at his daddy, striking him and injuring his mother unintentionally.

The child was detained by the police but later released to the custody of a relative. The couple was taken to the hospital. The father’s status is reportedly listed as critical and the mother is listed as stable.
