Officials announced Friday that a 17-year-old boy who was discovered underwater in a pool at a graduation celebration last weekend died.

According to family, Alonzo Polk, who graduated with honors from Dedham High School last month, planned to pursue engineering in college this fall.

According to a representative for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, investigators have been in touch with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and will be investigating Polk’s death.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy and a toxicology report.

Police filed a criminal complaint against the homeowners at 36 Netta Road on Thursday, but would not reveal the names of those charged until a probable cause finding was made.

Officers have filed criminal complaint forms in Dedham District Court for misdemeanor counts such as providing alcohol to minors and endangering a child.

“We are going to find out what happened to my son,” the boy’s mother, Debra Rowell, told reporters. “Everybody is still standing and my son is gone. And I want justice. I want justice and I am going to get it.”
