A woman is back in jail after shooting into a home and hitting a 12-year-old boy, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 11, a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Faxon Ave.

According to police, the boy was shot after 35-year-old Latroya Lemons fired into a home. Lemons was released from jail just a day before the spraying the bullets, according to court records, after being arrested for harassment earlier that same week after she allegedly threatened to kill her ex-boyfriend.

According to police, she pulled up to the house to look for her ex-boyfriend and started firing. According to Fox 13, eyewitness identified Lemons as the shooter, who fired 5 shots from a gray Cadillac.

According to the child, he, his cousin, and several friends were about to enter the house when a Cadillac pulled up and began firing shots from the passenger window.

According to police, there were six juveniles in the residence at the time of the shooting. Lemons’ 5-year-old son was one of them.

A warrant was quickly issued for Lemons’ arrest in connection with the shooting.

Lemons was apprehended on that warrant on Thursday, May 17, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

She is now charged with six counts of aggravated assault, six counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and four counts of violating bail terms.

Her bond is set at $500,000.
