Former Alabama star Najee Harris made a visit to a homeless shelter, Greater Richmond Interfaith Program (GRIP), a few hours before the start of the 2021 NFL draft, where he was honored with a draft watch party.

Harris, his four siblings, and his parents all grew up in that shelter, so it was a bit of a homecoming for the Steelers’ No. 24 pick.

Harris, on the other hand, wasn’t just passing through. In addition, he brought food for the current occupants. He stated to reporters, “There was a time I needed a helping hand. They gave us an opportunity to get back on our feet. So it is my job to give back.”
