The man accused of groping two women, including one who was caring for her baby, on a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Boston on Tuesday was apprehended upon landing, according to prosecutors.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts announced on Wednesday that Jairaj Singh Dhillon, 42, of Modesto, California, faces two counts of abusive sexual contact in connection with the alleged groping incidents on the flight.

According to NBC10, the first woman Dhillon is accused of inappropriately touching on the plane from Los Angeles International Airport was caring for her child in the window seat when Dhillon, seated in the aisle seat, touched her thigh and groin, according to federal prosecutors. She yelled, “This man just groped me.”

Dhillon is also accused of grabbing the groin and buttocks of a woman seated across the aisle when she stood up.

The flight crew subsequently decided to move Dhillon until Tuesday’s arrival at Boston Logan International Airport. He was escorted away and placed under arrest, according to prosecutors.

Prior to Thursday’s hearing, it was unclear if he had an attorney who could comment on the charges.

Each charge against Dhillon carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
