West Bloomfield man charged in execution-style killings has long criminal history (Oct. 2020)
A man was found guilty of murdering a 6-year-old boy and two adults in 2020 on Friday.
According to authorities, Nicholas Raad Bahri executed Tai’raz Moore, 6, and Isis Rimson, 28. On October 1, 2020, their bodies were discovered in the basement of a home on Otis Street in Warren.
When police went to the house to notify the family that Tai’raz’s father, Tukoyo Moore, had been found dead in a burned-out car in Detroit, they discovered the bodies. Moore’s girlfriend was Rimson.
“This was all over drugs and money,” Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said at the time of Bahri’s arrest in Oct. 2020, calling the murders one of the worst series of crimes he has ever seen, The Detroit News reports.
“Violent acts among drug dealers is not new,” said Dwyer.
“But killing a baby, a 6-year-old, has shaken not just the tri-county area but has shocked the nation,” Dwyer said in 2020, MLive.com reports. “Only monsters or godless creatures would pull the trigger on a 6-year-old.”
Bahri was convicted on all counts, including three counts of felony murder, three counts of first-degree murder – multiple theories, one count of fourth-degree felony arson, one count of dead boy disinterment and mutilation, and seven counts of weapons charges.
He is due to be sentenced on June 15.
