Authorities are looking into allegations that two gang members threw 1,000 cockroaches into a Taiwanese restaurant, according to the Daily Mail.

Police believe the Monday attack on G House Taipei was carried out by a criminal organization in retaliation for an unpaid debt.

According to Taipei Police Commissioner Chen Jia-chang, the situation was most likely directed at the restaurant owner, who reportedly owes money to a crime syndicate.

Chen stated at a press conference on Tuesday that tossing bags of cockroaches is a violent criminal act that should be prosecuted.

Chen went on to say that the roaches were tiny and most likely the type used to feed fish.
