Authorities in California have arrested a mother accused of drowning her 5-month-old and 2-year-old kids in the bathtub. According to documents, Courtney Williams, 26, was booked into the Yuba County Jail on a murder charge on Thursday.
Her husband, the father of her children, contacted the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office to her family’s Linda home at 11:45 a.m., according to a news release from the agency.
According to the report, the dad said he had returned home from work for lunchtime just before midday when his wife informed him “she had hurt the children.”
Officials said he discovered the boys “unresponsive in a bathtub full of water” and phoned 911. Despite deputies’ best efforts, both youngsters were pronounced dead at the location.
“At this time, detectives believe the apparent drowning of the boys was intentional, according to the news release.
The investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
