In the midst of a manhunt for the shooter, shocking bodycam footage capturing the moment a Florida police officer,  Jason Raynor, was shot in the head has been released.

The cop was shot about 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday in the 100 block of Kingston Avenue in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is struggling for his life in the hospital.

The officer’s bodycam footage of the encounter has subsequently been published by the Daytona Beach Police Department. This shows him approaching the suspect while he is seated in his car, a gray 2016 Honda HRV, and asking whether they reside in the neighborhood.

Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Othal Wallace, who was seen stepping out of his car and asking “what’s going on?” while the officer asked him to get back inside his car so they could speak.

The suspect then stated,”Come on now, come on now. Don’t do this,” as the cop placed his hand on him and tried to persuade him to sit.

According to News4Jax, this is the latest in a string of recent shootings engaging Volusia County police enforcement. Two foster youngsters were engaged in a gunfight with deputies earlier this month. A 14-year-old girl was shot but escaped unharmed. There were no injuries among the deputies.

The suspect appeared to shove the officer aside during the altercation.

The video shows the duo arguing until the sound of a single gunshot is heard, at which time the cop falls to the ground.

The Daytona Beach Police Department is offering a $100,000 reward “for anyone who can help authorities locate the man who shot one of our officers in the head,” according to a statement from the agency.
