A group of eight individuals attacked a 14-year-old girl in a classroom at Southern Guilford High School. According to the Sheriff’s Office, one of the assailants was a mother.
Deputies say six students, including an 18-year-old and a 37-year-old mother, walked into a classroom at SGHS on Tuesday and attacked a teenager.
Three of the individuals are SGHS students. The other three attend various schools around the county.
Investigators suspect the attack was prompted by a scuffle that occurred at a bus stop on Monday. According to Capt. Brain Hall, the SRO captain for the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, a 16-year-old female from SGHS may have started the brawl.
“This was clearly a targeted attack on one student, not a random act of violence,” he said.
