Footage released by Maryland police shows a teenager stealing a woman’s car at a gas station while her 2-year-old daughter is still secured in the vehicle.

The lady is seen parking her car about 9.30 a.m. on June 16 at the station’s air pump and vacuum cleaner before stepping out to put some money in the equipment.

As she strolls around the rear of the vehicle to the passenger side, the 15-year-old boy can be seen sneaking up, opening the driver’s side door, and speeding away, leaving the victim clutching the air pump hose.

The victim’s 2-year-old daughter was still in a child seat in the vehicle’s back passenger section when it was stolen, according to authorities. A eyewitness who observed the crime and pursued the car said he saw it briefly stop on Colesville Road to pick up a second culprit.

According to authorities, the two suspects escaped on foot after abandoning the car farther down Colesville Road. Officers discovered the car and found that the 2-year-old who was still inside was unharmed.

Both juvenile suspects fled on foot when they saw the cops, but were apprehended after a short foot chase.
