A Jonesboro store clerk was arrested after police say she stole more than $6,000 from the cash registers.

Judge David Boling of Craighead County District Court found probable cause to charge Jada Rogers, 22, with one count of theft greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000, KAIT8 reported.

Walmart reported that an employee stole $6,320 from the store, according to court documents.

Rogers allegedly admitted to taking the cash at the end of her shifts in a month’s time during questioning.

Rogers claimed in the affidavit that she would take between $200 and $400 from the registers each night.

“She advised she would do this when a customer would pay with cash,” the affidavit stated. “She would put the money in her pocket when she gave [the customers] their change and receipt.”

Rogers is free on a $2,500 cash/surety bond while awaiting her first court appearance on June 30.

The location of Walmart the alleged incident was not specified in the court documents.
