According to police, a husband and wife were discovered dead inside a senior living facility in Uptown on Sunday night after a call for a well-being check.
Officers were able to gain entry into the apartment in the 1000 block of West Montrose Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m., where they discovered the bodies of a 79-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman.
Sheila Banks, whose listed address was at the senior living facility, was identified as the woman. Ocie A. Banks Sr. was identified as the man.
The man had “some sort of trauma” to his face, according to officials, and the woman had a gunshot wound to the head.
The couple was married, according to neighbors, but Banks Sr. didn’t live there.
Sheila was on vacation from her job at Chase Bank, according to neighbor Larry Burns, who saw her in the laundry room Saturday.
Police announced on Monday that the deaths are being investigated as homicides. No one is being held in custody. At cpdtip.com, anyone with information can leave an anonymous tip.
