A teenage girl was reportedly beaten, attacked, and nearly set on fire, according to Concord police.

Viviana Peter Ajby, 42, made her first appearance in Merrimack County Court on Thursday, accused of pouring lighter fluid on a 13-year-old girl she knew, beating her, and threatening her with a knife.

According to court records, the girl told police she was late coming home because she was playing outside with friends.

Peter Ajby allegedly began shouting at the girl and asking whether she was sexually active, according to authorities. The woman allegedly told the girl she ought to search and sexually assaulted her at that point, according to investigators.

Then, according to police, Peter Ajby accused the girl of having premarital sex and attacked her with a big cooking stick, lighter fluid, and two belts, bruising her.

Peter Ajby confessed to pouring lighter fluid on the teen, then removing her hair bonnet and setting it on fire, according to court records.

On Wednesday, she surrendered to police and was put under preventative arrest.
