Police in San Antonio have detained a lady on suspicion of kidnapping two adult males and seeking a ransom from their relatives.
Reynaicela Alcasar, 44, faces aggravated kidnapping charges.
The victims were brothers, aged 27 and 35, according to an arrest warrant document.
According to police, Alcasar and others kept the men against their will from June 20 to June 21, threatening them with death or bodily harm.
After receiving a ransom demand, the victims’ sister phoned authorities to report the abduction.
According to the affidavit, Alcasar took the victims to the Walmart near Highway 281 and Loop 1604, where he cashed a $2,000 Western Union check.
Investigators say they recognized Alcasar from security video at the business. She also used her cell phone to call the victims’ relatives.
While Alcasar was gathering the ransom, police raided her residence in the 9500 block of Lorene and apprehended other individuals suspected of involvement in the plot.
