According to a report, a UK woman was sentenced Tuesday to at least 23 years in prison for killing her roommate who turned down her sexual advances, dismembering the body with a saw, and stuffing the remains in suitcases.

The Evening Standard reported that Gareeca Gordon, 28, stabbed Phoenix Netts, also 28, four times in their Birmingham residence on April 16, 2020.

Gordon misled her friends and relatives by sending text messages, texts, and voice messages after killing Netts, claiming that she had moved to London.

According to the news source, investigators discovered the victim’s remains packed into two suitcases when she was apprehended near a quarry in Coleford around a month after the gruesome crime.

Gordon pleaded guilty just days before her trial was slated to begin. She was convicted in Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday.

Netts told a friend that Gordon “demanded sex with her” and became “threatening” when she refused, according to prosecutor Andrew Smith.

On April 7 of last year, Netts texted a friend, saying, “There’s a girl here who keeps asking me to be sexual.” “I think I’m going to move back to London. It’s scaring me lol.”
